The Weber Story: From St. Louis to Olive Boulevard

Our company history follows the region’s changing transportation needs. These milestones mark the people, places and decisions that shaped the Weber organization:

  • 1902: George Weber founded Weber Implement Company on Main Street, near today’s Gateway Arch.
  • Plows, threshing and sawmill equipment, wagons, buggies and steam engines served regional farmers; an East St. Louis warehouse received rail shipments.
  • Expansion to 19th and Locust brought the business near Union Station and the developing Automobile Row.
  • 1908: Automobiles joined the business, renamed Weber Implement and Automobile Company.
  • Weber distributed Hupp Motor Company vehicles and developed regional dealerships; early operations included trade-ins, driver instruction, repairs, parts and warranty support.
  • 1925: George Weber Jr. joined full time. 1930: Plymouth/DeSoto distribution followed. 1938: Weber moved to 4035 Lindell Boulevard.
  • World War II: Vehicle service continued while the showroom produced die-cast airplane parts; automobile operations resumed afterward.
  • 1952: General Motors awarded Weber a Chevrolet franchise. 1963: George Weber III joined full time.
  • 1969: Weber Chevrolet moved to its 12-acre Olive Boulevard location near Interstate 270.
  • 1989: Columbia Chevrolet joined, later relocating near I-255. 1992: George Weber IV joined. 1993: Granite City Chevrolet followed on Route 3.
  • 2011: Creve Coeur delivered its first Chevrolet Volt. 2017: Weber Ford joined. 2018: A Granite City commercial operation expanded the group.

The business began in 1902; automobile sales began in 1908, and the Chevrolet franchise began in 1952. Those are different milestones in one continuing local story.

Find the Vehicle That Fits Your Life in St. Louis

Start with what you need the vehicle to do. Bring your passenger, cargo, parking and budget requirements into the comparison, then look at the equipment on the specific vehicle you are considering. Inventory changes, so confirm availability before making a special trip.

Chevrolet Trucks

Compare the Silverado family and Chevrolet truck inventory including Colorado, Silverado 1500 and Silverado HD as available. Compare cab space, bed length and intended use. For towing, ask about the exact vehicle’s equipment and ratings with your passengers and cargo included. A model name alone does not establish the right configuration.

Chevrolet SUVs

Explore Chevrolet SUVs such as Trax, Trailblazer, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe and Suburban as available. Keep your usual passengers and gear in mind. Compare access to each row, space behind the seats, visibility and the parking situations you encounter. Bring the stroller, sports bag or other everyday item that helps you judge fit.

Used Cars, Trucks and SUVs

Browse all used vehicles or narrow your search to used Chevrolet vehicles. Compare mileage, equipment, service information and condition together. Ask for the history and coverage details that apply to the individual vehicle you select.

Electric and Business Vehicles

Explore electric Chevrolet inventory including Equinox EV, Blazer EV and other available models. Consider your daily mileage, charging access and travel habits. For work requirements, use our commercial Chevrolet resources and describe the equipment, passengers and loads your business needs to carry.

Use the Chevrolet Research Center to prepare questions about models and trims. When you contact us, include a stock number or VIN so the conversation stays focused on the vehicle you actually want to see.

Meet the Team and Read Customer Experiences

A useful dealership conversation begins with your priorities. Tell us what you like about your current vehicle, what needs to change and which details could make or break the next purchase. A specific question about a seat, feature, cargo opening or truck configuration is a good starting point.

Get to know the Weber Chevrolet team and read our customer reviews. Look for experiences relevant to your own purchase or service needs, then ask us directly about anything you want clarified. For the shopping tools available today, explore Why Buy From Weber Chevrolet.

Prepare Your Trade and Financing Questions

Begin with Value Your Trade if a current vehicle is part of your plan. Have its mileage, equipment, condition and payoff information available. An online estimate is a starting point; final trade value requires an appraisal.

The Finance Center and payment calculator can help organize the purchase discussion. Compare vehicle price, amount financed, APR, term and total cost along with the monthly payment. Application decisions and terms depend on lender review and individual qualifications.

Support Throughout Chevrolet Ownership

Keep the Chevrolet Service Center in mind for maintenance and repair questions, and use online service scheduling to request an appointment. Describe the concern clearly and provide your vehicle information so the department can discuss the appropriate next step.

You can also review service and parts offers, contact the Parts Center, or submit a parts request. For a replacement part or accessory, use the VIN and explain how you intend to use it; compatibility depends on the actual vehicle and equipment.
